Gaza today is a geography of annihilation. Whole districts have vanished. Hospitals either razed into rubble or function without medicine and equipment; schools have become mass graves; families wander through concrete ruins searching for what is left of their homes. After two years of the most inhuman military assault by US-backed Zionist Israel assault with a view to occupying that land, over 70,000 of Gaza’s population is either dead or wounded, and nearly all survivors have been displaced. After pulverizing the Palestinian land, President Donald Trump first arrived with a made-for-television ceasefire, insisting it signalled a “historic dawn.”
Hostages were freed, bombing paused partially, limited aid convoys crept through checkpoints—and then the White House declared that the Middle East had entered a new era. One could easily sense that US imperialists were not brokering peace; they were administering the aftermath of an assault they actively promoted and supported. The US brokered ceasefire was never neutral. It was a shrewd move to facilitate the proxy occupation of the land by Pentagon rulers.
UN Security Council Resolution Termed Gaza Peace Plan
And that was evident when on 17 November, a resolution in the name of the 20-point Gaza Peace plan was adopted by the UN Security Council. According to this so-called peace plan, Gaza will not be governed by its people but by a “transitional authority” or ‘Board of Peace’ hand-picked by the Pentagon regime, to be headed by Trump, and thus virtually sanctions all the war crimes and genocide orchestrated by Zionist Israel with the full backing of the Pentagon rulers. It is in blatant violation of the UN Charter and subversion of all international laws, codes and practices. In other words, it is a blatant endorsement of the ill motivated plan mooted by US President Trump to arrogate to himself absolute power in and over Palestine in utter contravention of the Palestinian people’s legitimate and inalienable right to have a free sovereign motherland of theirs.
Trump’s Gaza plan is a slender document with an enormous ambition: to seize decisive influence over the political future of Palestine under the guise of humanitarian responsibility. and supervised by a “board of peace” to be chaired by Trump himself, as mentioned, and fronted by Tony Blair, the former UK Prime Minister and accomplice to US crime of militarily occupying sovereign Iraq. Nothing in the agreement halts Israel’s territorial ambitions. Netanyahu’s coalition continues to advocate open annexation in the West Bank and the permanent subjugation of Gaza. Trump’s plan grants Israel time, legitimacy and international cover— not constraints.
The so-called ‘Peace Plan’ borrows heavily from the US occupation of Iraq, the British Mandate in Palestine, and the World Bank’s technocratic experiments across the Global South. Strip away the diplomatic packaging, and the message is blunt: Palestinians may inhabit Gaza, but the United States will govern it. Hence, in Gaza, the US is not reinventing the wheel, it is oiling the gears of a machine that has operated for decades.
Technical Neutrality as Political Control
The most dangerous component of the plan is its technocratic façade. consultants, and Fixers, development “experts” will be empowered to run Gaza’s ministries, infrastructure, and reconstruction—answerable not to the people of Gaza but to US. This model has a long pedigree. Under structural adjustment it allowed the IMF and World Bank to dismantle economies. Under the British Mandate, it justified rule without representation. Under US occupation, it turned Iraq into a laboratory for experimenting with how to reap benefits of capitalist globalization at gunpoint.
Technocracy is imperialism’s camouflage. It presents domination as rational management, replacing the language of sovereignty with the language of efficiency. Gaza does not need efficiency. Gaza needs liberation; it needs freedom.
Reconstruction—A Bonanza for US Imperialists
Rebuilding Gaza will require tens of billions of dollars—far more than any donor coalition has ever proven willing to sustain. But under Trump’s plan, this money is not meant to empower Palestinians. It is meant to discipline them.
Control over reconstruction funds will give the various multi nationals, mostly US-based, enormous leverage to decide who would receive housing, which neighbourhoods are to be rebuilt, and which political factions are rewarded or punished. Aid will become a weapon to force compliance with a US-designed political order. The same thing happened in war-ravaged Iraq. A rebuilt Gaza under occupation will remain as a de facto US colony.
Foil the US Imperialist Design
Our Party vehemently denounces such an anti-people, pro imperialist resolution and calls upon the peace-loving people of the world to spare no more time in closing their ranks for stirring the entire globe with the ferment of a well-knit, well coordinated anti-imperialist movement, pending which the imperialist sharks headed by the US imperialists will hold not only Gaza but entire mankind to ransom and destroy civilization.
