PM Modi in the morning of 9 October last extended total support to the so called peace plan of US President Donald Trump four times in a single day, beginning with a tweet after Israel and Hamas approved its first phase and concluding with a personal congratulatory phone call. Then in the evening, he wrote on X that he spoke with “my friend” Trump and “congratulated him on the success of the historic Gaza peace plan”. He expressed hope that “all concerned will come together behind President Trump’s initiative and support this effort to end conflict and secure peace”. Earlier, on 30 September, Modi welcomed Trump’s initial announcement of the plan, calling it a “viable pathway” to lasting peace in West Asia. Then again on 4 October he “welcome[d] President Trump’s leadership as peace efforts in Gaza make decisive progress”. PM Modi’s eulogy, or to be exact sickening sycophancy, of US President who, of late, imposed 50% import tariff on Indian goods shaking India’s foreign trade and economy and openly expressed displeasure for India’s reluctance to acknowledge his brokering peace deal to end armed conflict between India and Pakistan after Pahalgam terror killing. Even he has on 25 September last raised the fee for H-1B visas from existing $2,000 to $5,000 to a staggering $100,000 annually which would adversely impact Indian professionals on employment in US. So, it shows that whatever stringent measures US adopt against India, PM Modi and his government cannot afford to curry displeasure of US imperialist rulers lest that should come cropper to the aspiration of their masters, the ruling Indian monopolists, to emerge as a global superpower. So, shamelessly, flouting the opinion of the peace loving Indian citizens and despising the glorious tradition of anti-imperialist struggle of the Indian people, PM Modi has been singing peans in favour of President Trump who has consistently backed Zionist Israeli regime both diplomatically and militarily, to orchestrate worst genocide in Gaza. Adoring a demon as apostle of peace! Thy name is PM Modi!
No, PM Modi did not end with Trump. He also praised Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, a butcher and war criminal, for his “strong leadership”. In a post on X, PM Modi said: “We welcome the agreement on the first phase of President Trump’s peace plan. This is also a reflection of the strong leadership of PM Netanyahu.” PM Modi’s appreciation post for Netanyahu comes at a time when several Western countries including UK, France, Portugal, Ireland, Spain, Norway as well as Australia and Canada have backed Palestinian statehood.
He also reaffirmed in course of his effusive praise for Israeli Prime Minister that “terrorism in any form or manifestation is unacceptable anywhere in the world.” Who other than Netanyahu and Trump are the biggest terrorists in the world who do not mince matters in butchering thousands of innocent unarmed hunger-stricken citizens, more particularly children. They have not even hesitated to open fire on the hungry Gaza people while the latter flocked at the relief centres to obtain food and water. What propriety then PM Modi, his cabinet colleagues and the BJP leaders have to criticize anyone for committing or acquiescing in any crime including killing?
